In this series, I have described each of your four psychic gifts with a dramatic adjective (astonishing, amazing, and spectacular). That’s because these words describe our feelings and attitudes about these inborn qualities. Some of us find it hard to believe that we normal people possess these unusual gifts. But if you take the time to observe your impressions as you go through your day, you will find yourself experiencing at least one of these fabulous (there I go again) gifts.

The reason I’m making such a big deal about these perfectly natural means of perception is that we are not used to thinking about ourselves as psychic creatures, and I want you to feel enthusiastic and joyful as you learn about your inner senses. They truly are spectacular, amazing, astonishing, and fabulous just like your eyes, ears, and sense of touch are. Our inner senses complete the circle of our perception of life. They are the other half (or other side of the coin) of the senses that are essential in navigating our lives, and we ignore them at our disadvantage.

Our programming is that only certain people have these mysterious perceptions. But that isn’t true. It would be more accurate to say that only a few people trust their psychic impressions enough to use them in everyday life in helping themselves others. Until now. You may be one of the ones who are willing to develop this invisible part of yourself that is no longer a mystery.

If so, read on.

First of all, let’s call this gift Prophecy, since it’s about discerning the future. A long word like Claircognizance is liable to tie some brains (like mine) into an uncomfortable knot.

There are several ways you may have already experienced your gift of prophecy. One way is knowing what someone is going to say before they say it. You may know how a movie is going to turn out before seeing the end. I once had a friend who ruined a number of movies for me by telling me the ending (key word for our relationship – once).

How to Unfold Your Gift of Prophecy

Prophecy Technique 1: Practicing on Your Own

  1. Sit comfortably with your back supported and both feet flat on the floor.
  2. Take a few minutes to focus on your breathing.
  3. It’s important to be detached from the answer to your question. When you are emotionally involved, your answers will be unclear or inaccurate. You may want to refer to my post, Spring Clean Your Aura All Year ‘Round and practice one of those techniques before asking your questions.
  4. Start with questions that you can see results from fairly soon in order to keep you interested and give you as much practice as possible.
  5. Think of a situation for which you want to know the outcome. Examples may be:
  • “Am I going to get that job?”
  • What does this person think of me/the job I’m doing at work?”
  • “How much am I going to receive in tips this shift?”
  • “What’s going to be the outcome of this project or action?”
  • “What will my day be like tomorrow?”
  • “Will John/Jane answer the telephone when I call?”
  • “What store will have the clothes I want when I go shopping?” If you don’t receive an answer to this question, ask about each store you are considering, as in “Will it be ______?” until you receive your inner knowing. I do this, and it saves a lot of time and energy.
  1. Make a note of your answer, and wait for the outcome.
  2. Your answer may come as a straight inner knowing, or through a mental picture, an understanding or word, or a feeling, accompanied by an inner knowing.

Remember, this is practice, and if you receive an answer that doesn’t jibe with the outcome it’s okay. You are practicing.

Prophecy: Technique 2: Practice in A Group

Consider getting some like-minded people together to more rapidly learn how to develop your gift of prophecy.

  1. Everyone sits in a circle with backs comfortably supported and feet flat on the floor.
  2. Each person takes a turn placing their hands on the shoulders of each person in the circle and focusing on receiving an inner knowing about that person.
  3. Instead of placing your hands on someone’s shoulders, you can experiment by standing in front of each person and looking at their forehead to receive an impression.
  4. You can also stand in back of each person without touching them and focusing on the back of their head to receive an impression.
  5. After each round, group members share their response to the message they received.

Successful people follow their intuition. You can find examples of this all over the Internet. Our intuition is a practical tool we are meant to use to help us on our path to fulfillment. We are all meant to enjoy life, and through our enjoyment, we make the world a better place.
